Synonymous to Tacloban City is Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) which devastated most of Tacloban and its surrounding areas in the Western Visayan province of Leyte. Heavy rains, forceful windfalls and sudden storm surges inundated the city, wreaked havoc and decimated scores of the population rendering the communities helpless amid the state of calamity which followed. Yolanda brought Tacloban and nearby localities down to their knees.
Yolanda struck in 2013 leaving in her wake a totally desolate city. With astonishing resilience, however, Tacloban drew strength from its humbled core and rose from its devastation to what is presently its progressive claims to full recovery and normalcy. The city’s rapid economic bounce from ‘ground zero’ has characterized Tacloban as the “rising phoenix of the East.”
It would be in early 2016 that CareHealth Plus-Tacloban would ride on the city’s economic surge.
